Hungary has offered 20 thousand doses of vaccine against measles for the medical needs of the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine with the aim to prevent the spread of the disease from neighboring Romania. This was announced by the Commissioner of the government of Hungary on cooperation and coordination Istvan Gresa, transfers «112 Ukraine».
According to Gregi, last year Hungary has pledged over the next five years if necessary to meet the needs of the Transcarpathian region of scarce vaccines for the vaccination of inhabitants of the region.
It is reported that the supply of these drugs from Hungary to the neighbouring region of Ukraine will start in a few days, once the chief sanitary doctor of Hungary will coordinate the transfer of vaccines with the head of the relevant service of Transcarpathia, said Istvan Gresa.
He added that the Hungarian side is studying the request of the Ukrainian colleagues on vaccination of the population of the region in the current year and has already begun the process of procurement of drugs, based on estimates for the amount of nearly 500 million forints (more than 1.7 million U.S. dollars).
