The original spiral staircase, created by Gustave Eiffel in 1889, was dismantled in 1983, the company operating the Eiffel tower. It was divided into 24 parts, four of which were presented to the French museums, and the remaining 20 were sold at auction, which was held on the second floor of the tower. In 2013, at auction for 220 thousand euros was already sold part of the stairs that connected the second and third levels of the Eiffel tower.
